In spite of Denver Broncos general manager John Elway recently stating that the team is open to trading star linebacker Von Miller and Miller's mother ripping Elway for it, Miller insists that the relationship between him, his mother and Elway is just fine.

“Everything is good,” Miller said on Pro Football Talk Live on Thursday. “My mom, what makes her who she is, is her emotions. She’s never missed a football game I’ve played in my life, from little league to the National Football League. So when she heard what Mr. Elway said, I don’t think it was too harsh, but my mom took it the wrong way — I wouldn’t even say the wrong way, but she took it like she took it. She’s my mom.”

Miller's mother, Gloria, previously wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post that the biggest problem currently plaguing the Broncos is Elway's inability to find a quarterback.

She makes a good point.

Since Peyton Manning retired following the Broncos' Super Bowl victory in February 2016, Denver's quarterback position has been a revolving door that has featured the likes of Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch and, most recently, Case Keenum.

As far as Miller's desire to play with the Broncos long term? It hasn't changed:

“I want to be a Denver Bronco for life,” he said.

Should Denver decide to trade Miller, it would certainly get a hefty return, as the 29-year-old is coming off of another Pro Bowl campaign in which he racked up 48 tackles, 14.5 sacks, an interception, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
