The Denver Broncos found themselves with a nice 17-3 lead over the Los Angeles Chargers right before the end of the second half. However, in the closing seconds, the Chargers hit a few big plays to score and close out the half just down 17-10.

Then the Chargers tied the game 17-17 in the fourth quarter, and things were starting to look bad for the Broncos.

A field goal gave Denver the lead again 20-17, but Los Angeles responded with one of their own. They hit a field goal with just 14 seconds left to tie the score up at 20-20. It looked as if the two teams were going to head into overtime with all the momentum leaning towards the Chargers.

However, the Broncos did still have 14 seconds left. Defensive pass interference gave Denver a massive field position change. Using just that one play, the Broncos suddenly had a chance at a long field goal.

Kicker Brandon McManus went ahead and drilled the kick, a 53-yarder, as the clock struck 0:00.

The Broncos might have fumbled a big lead but found a way to win in the end. McManus has shown in the past he has a massive leg, so a 53-yarder definitely was not out of his reach.

The win moves the Broncos to 4-8 on the year, and it slides the Chargers right down to the same record as well. With that record, this win doesn't exactly give them playoff hope, however, it's still a positive sign.

Denver won their first game with rookie Drew Lock as the starting quarterback, and he played a role in the win as well. Of course, it doesn't hurt having a kicker that can knock down 50-plus yarders at a moment's notice either.
