NFL fans expect the worst when it comes to certain franchises. The Cleveland Browns tend to top the list of mishaps, misfortune and miscalculations, so the Dawg Pound was naturally going to be nervous when word broke that one of their most important offensive players left practice early on Sunday.

Luckily, he was back at work on Monday. “Amari Cooper off to the side in conditioning area today after leaving yesterday's practice early with a minor tweak of something,” Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported.

Browns training camp already got off to a rocky start with the news that fellow wide receiver Marquise Goodwin was placed on the non-football illness list last week due to blood clots. Cooper's updated status, however, is encouraging. The issue is said to be unrelated to the offseason core surgery he previously underwent.

The 29-year-old is coming off a nice bounce-back season, totaling 1,160 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in his first year in Cleveland. Cooper could be even more productive with a full season of Deshaun Watson as his quarterback. Having extra time to develop the on-field chemistry will be crucial, so hopefully he is fully back in action in the coming days.

There are high expectations for this franchise, just based on the historic investment they made in their controversial franchise QB. Any patience that was afforded last year will be in short supply in 2023.

Amari Cooper could very well be the glue of this offensive unit. The veteran wideout has earned four Pro Bowl selections and excelled in three different environments. He has faced immense pressure before and knows how to rise above it.

One of the organization's top priorities has to be preserving his health, so that fans can finally see the complete Browns product on Sept. 10th. So far, that crucial objective does not appear to be in jeopardy.
