In “sort-of?” football news, Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns just doubled down on his belief in the supernatural.

Last March, Mayfield tweeted about a UFO sighting he witnessed with his girlfriend in Texas:

“Almost 100%, Em and I just saw a UFO drop straight out of the sky on our way home from dinner,” the Browns QB  tweeted. “We stopped and looked at each other and asked if either of us saw it… Very bright ball of light going straight down out of the sky towards Lake Travis. Anybody else witness this?”

Now, in a recent interview with Cleveland.com, Mayfield reiterated his belief that the UFOs he saw were true and emphasized his thankfulness that the Navy “confirmed some more pictures.”

“I’m a firm believer in UFOs and Sasquatch…It’s real, I saw it. I’m glad the Navy finally confirmed some more pictures. Now everybody doesn’t think I’m as crazy. I believe.,” the Browns star added.

According to the Wall Street Journal, general UFO sightings were up 51 percent during 2020, so Baker Mayfield might not be the only one that has been convinced of extraterrestrials or cryptozoology over the past year.

Now, Browns fans definitely won't mind this. If nothing else, this is a way for their franchise quarterback to show off his personality without getting into too much trouble, and who knows? Cleveland had a major turnaround last season with its solid roster, giving the formerly-defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs a run for their money. Maybe they had some extra help from up above.

With the AFC North remaining one of the league's stronger divisions, the Browns might need some supernatural help yet again.
