The Houston Texans just released cornerback Kevin Johnson earlier this week, and he is already drawing immediate interest around the NFL. First, he met with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday. Now, he is preparing to meet with the Cleveland Browns, according to Josh Edwards of 247 Sports.

Johnson played in just one game this season before suffering a concussion and hitting the injured reserve list, marking the end of a very disappointing and injury-riddled four-year tenure with the Texans.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Wake Forest University, was originally selected by Houston in the first round (16th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He played in all 16 games during his rookie campaign and made 10 starts, finishing with 52 tackles, an interception, and nine passes defended.

The following year, Johnson appeared in just six contests as a result of a broken foot, and during the time he was on the field, he totaled 21 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Then, in 2017, the Clarksville, Md. native dealt with health issues once again, as he missed four games due to a sprained MCL. In the 12 contests in which he did participate, he registered 45 stops.

Still, given the fact that Johnson is a former first-round pick, he will almost certainly find a home fairly soon, as there will surely be plenty of teams willing to take a flier on him.

The Browns are coming off of a 2018 campaign in which they went 7-8-1, marking their best finish since they won 10 games all the way back in 2007.
