The Cleveland Browns are currently interviewing Steve Wilks for the defensive coordinator position that's still currently vacant:

Wilks, who is the former Arizona Cardinals head coach, was fired from his position after just one season. Prior to his tenure with the Cardinals, he was the defensive backs coach for the Chicago Bears and San Diego Chargers, and a defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers.

Steve Wilks took over the position after Bruce Arians — now the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach — chose a brief retirement to care for his ailing health.  From the first day of his debut, he saw the team take a loss 24-6 against the Washington Redskins. He didn't earn his first win with the Cardinals until his fifth week as head coach, when the team finally defeated the San Francisco 49ers.

He has, however, fared better as a defensive coach. He helped the Carolina Panthers head to the Super Bowl during the 2015 season, although the team was ultimately defeated by the Broncos. When Sean McDermott left to become the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, Wilks moved into the defensive coordinator position, making him a hot commodity on the coaching circuit.

If Steve Wilks takes the defensive coordinator position with the Browns, he will be serving under new head coach Freddie Kitchens, marking the first time he does so in his career. However, there are some people who believe that Chuck Pagano is the better choice for the defensive coordinator position.
