The Cleveland Browns are in the middle of a roller coaster matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. However, star cornerback Denzel Ward fell to injury during the first half.

Ward was quickly taken off the field and sent to the locker room, according to Zack Jackson of The Athletic. “Ward is being evaluated for a concussion, per press box announcement.”

Losing him is a problem for the Browns. Especially considering they're in a dogfight against the Ravens. However, the news isn't all bad, as Denzel Ward did clear concussion protocol, per ESPN's Jake Trotter. However, a neck injury is keeping Ward sidelined.

“Denzel Ward cleared concussion protocol but is questionable to return with a neck injury.”

Hopefully, Ward will be okay. He might not return to this game, but the injury he received looked scary. Ravens offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley dove at Ward's head in what looked like a rather dirty play.

At the very least, the Browns cornerback didn't receive a concussion. So that's the good news. But a neck injury is almost just as bad. Especially considering Stanley pretty much head-hunted Ward on that play.

The Browns still hope to earn a win over the Ravens though. Doing so will keep them in the thick of the AFC North race, all four teams are coming alive at the midway point of the season. With that said, Cleveland will monitor Denzel Ward closely, as his return from injury is detrimental for their success.
