Cleveland Browns running Kareem Hunt isn't shy about expressing his thoughts on wanting to stay with the franchise.

Hunt is set to enter his second season in Cleveland, and the expectation is that new head coach Kevin Stefanski will give him an opportunity to showcase his skills in the backfield.

Of course, Hunt has certainly had issues off the field, which caused him to be released by Kansas City Chiefs in 2018 despite being one of the most productive running backs in the NFL.

If he can get back to the type of player he was with the Chiefs while limiting the problems away from the field, Hunt figures to be an important asset for the Browns moving forward.

That should allow him to be a big part of Stefanki's plans, and Hunt wouldn't have a problem with that in terms of becoming a mainstay in the Browns' offense.

Here's what Hunt had to say about potentially signing an extension with the team, according to Ben Axelrod of WKYC in Cleveland:

Kareem Hunt says he'd be open to signing an extension in Cleveland: “I would not mind playing with the Browns for a long time.”

Hunt had 43 carries for 179 yards and two touchdowns last season with the Browns while also racking up 37 receptions for 285 yards and a touchdown.

Cleveland has plenty of weapons on offense to become an AFC title contender, and it's just a matter of seeing whether Stefanski, Hunt, and others can turn that into a consistent product on the field.

The Browns kick off the new season on Sept. 13 in a road matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
