The Cleveland Browns fell short of the playoffs in the 2018 NFL season. Fortunately, running back Nick Chubb is confident next year will be different.

There is now plenty of speculation regarding Cleveland's playoff chances moving forward. Chubb feels they will be able to get the job done in the 2019 NFL season,
via TMZ Sports:

“Yeah, we will [make the playoffs]. We will.”

It is encouraging to see Chubb so confident in his team's chances for next season. More importantly, there is good reason for him to feel that way considering how well the Browns performed this season. Despite their slow start to the year, they still managed to stay in the playoff hunt until the regular season was nearly over.

It is safe to say that Chubb was an integral part of their success. The Browns selected Chubb in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Cleveland started the season by using a committee in their backfield. It was running back Carlos Hyde that had dominated most of the touches early on. However, the emergence of Chubb ultimately resulted in Hyde's trade to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Chubb firmly established himself as the Browns' new workhorse. The rookie finished the season rushing for 996 yards and eight touchdowns on 192 carries. Contrary to previous years, Cleveland now has enough talent at key positions to help them take that next step into the postseason. It will be interesting to see if the new coaching staff can help them get there, and possibly advance further.
