Hunt had been cut by the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this past season. The league had put him on the Commissioner-Exempt List on Nov. 30 after a video of him shoving and kicking a woman surfaced online.

Before then he had been a vital weapon for the Chief's offense. Andy Reid has had many successful running backs in his West Coast style system, but Hunt had been his best since coming into the league. In his rookie year, Hunt ran for over 1,327 yards, leading the entire league in total rushing yards. He also caught a total of 53 receptions along with 455 yards. He had 11 total touchdowns from scrimmage.

In his sophomore campaign through 11 games, Hunt ran for 824 yards with seven total touchdowns. He also caught 26 passes for 378 receptions yards and seven touchdowns as an eligible receiver. Patrick Mahomes, the NFL's MVP, had used him perfectly as a weapon in the backfield.

It remains to be seen how soon Hunt will be back. His suspension time is still on the table as the league decides the appropriate punishment for his misgivings.
