Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins had high hopes of getting selected by the New York Giants with the sixth overall pick of the NFL Draft on Thursday night, but fate had other plans.

Haskins ended up slipping all the way to the Washington Redskins at No. 15, prompting Haskins to say that the league “messed up” by allowing him to fall so far in the first round.

After he was picked, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. reached out to Haskins, sending him a text that read, “Show em why,” per Kalyn Kahler of Sports Illustrated.

Obviously, Beckham's text was a reference to the Giants passing up on Haskins for Duke's Daniel Jones at No. 6. New York will now be facing Haskins twice a year, as he will be playing for the Giants' NFC East rival Redskins.

Beckham is not exactly in a great place with Big Blue right now after the Giants traded him to the Browns earlier this offseason. On top of that, New York general manager Dave Gettleman has referenced “culture problems” the team had previously, clearly a shot at Beckham.

So, it doesn't come as much of a surprise that Beckham is rooting for Haskins to burn his former club.

The Giants have come under harsh criticism for taking Jones over Haskins, as Jones was not all that productive at Duke while Haskins' numbers during his sophomore year at Ohio State speak for themselves.

Haskins will also have a legitimate chance of landing Washington's starting quarterback job going into 2019, so he might get a chance to show the Giants what he—and many others—thinks they missed out on very soon.
