Cleveland Browns safety Jabril Peppers had inspiration from former Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant during the Week 15 game against the Denver Broncos

Bryant spoke at the Browns' team meeting last Friday, and apparently, it helped give the team a boost as they went into Mile High Stadium and grabbed a 17-16 victory.

Peppers had an excellent performance with six tackles, one sack (which sealed the victory), and one interception, which all played a role in helping Cleveland notch its sixth win of the season.

And it sounds like Bryant played a key part in the great team performance.

Here's what Peppers had to say about the visit from the future NBA Hall of Famer, courtesy of Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com:

“It gave me that extra little oomph that I needed for prime time and I was definitely thankful for that,” said Peppers. “That was probably one of the dopest moments since I've been in the league. It's just the way he can just command a room when he talks.

“You just have no choice but to listen, and then the comfort level. You think you know a guy and then you find out who he really actually is, it was just a good experience, man, and his message, he conveyed it the right way and it really hit home.”

That's quite a compliment for Bryant, but it isn't all that surprising given his knack for motivation throughout his stellar NBA career.

As for the Browns, they are still mathematically in the AFC playoff race, even if it's highly unlikely that they make it at this point.

But Cleveland will try to keep the momentum going when it hosts the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
