ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith wants rookie Cleveland Browns cornerback Greedy Williams to tone down a bit on the Super Bowl talk.

Smith told Williams to “shut your mouth” during the May 8 episode of ESPN's “First Take” (via 247Sports.com's Josh Edwards).

“I like Greedy Williams. I like him. The brother can play.

We ain't talking about Greedy Williams the talent. We ain't talking about him as an individual. We're talking about him bloviating about what the team is going to do.

Shut your mouth! Go on the field!”

The Browns selected Williams 46th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft on April 26. In the aftermath of the draft, he told local reporters (via ESPN's Kevin Seifert) during a conference call “the Browns are going to the Super Bowl this year.”

Williams also told Seifert he and second-year Browns cornerback Denzel Ward “are going to tear up the league” and “will lock down those receivers.”

Williams certainly makes an interesting case. He was a Consensus All-American in 2018 and a two-time First-Team All-SEC selection out of LSU. He was also one of the best cornerback prospects in this year's draft.

The Browns are a much-improved team. They traded for controversial wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in March. Other players such as Baker Mayfield, Antonio Callaway, Jarvis Landry, and Kareem Hunt should make Cleveland a force to be reckoned with in 2019.

This year, the Browns should end their 17-year postseason drought. It could be a bit of a stretch envisioning them hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy in February. If they do, Williams is one heck of a Nostradamus.

One thing's for sure: Greedy Williams will make a difference for the Browns in 2019 and beyond.
