The Cleveland Browns are in desperate need of a turnaround if they hope to salvage the 2019 season. It appears they could be looking to make a move at the trade deadline in order to accomplish that.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Browns are interested in trading for New York Giants left tackle Nate Solder if the Washington Redskins refuse to part ways with left tackle Trent Williams.

The Browns' front office is certainly no stranger to cutting deals with New York's brass in recent years. Given their track record, the prospect of them getting a deal done does not seem too far-fetched. However, the compensation that the Browns would need to give up to acquire Solder is currently unknown.

The Giants made quite the investment in Solder by making him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the league at the time that he signed his contract. He has largely underwhelmed since his arrival. While the Browns are hoping to secure some talent to fortify their woeful offensive line, they will need to be careful not to give up too much in the process.

If Solder does not pan out in Cleveland, then they would be billed $13 million in order to part ways with the 31-year-old left tackle. The onus will fall on the front office to determine whether or not it is worth the risk.
