The Cleveland Browns made a splash with the acquisition of former New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Now it appears he is hoping his new team can sweeten the pot a little.

Wide receiver Antonio Brown received a bit of a bonus after the Oakland Raiders traded for him. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Beckham would like for the Browns to do the same:

Odell Beckham Jr saw Antonio Brown receive added money without adding New Years upon being traded to the Raiders. My understanding is Odell wants the same thing from the Browns.

It is easy to see why Beckham is looking to make the most out of his new situation. Brown is considered one of the elite wide receivers in the game and Oakland made it a point to reward him for it. Although Beckham is in the same class as his veteran peer, he is barely entering the prime of his career.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether or not Cleveland will be willing to do it. They already made quite the investment in bringing him over from New York in exchange for a first-round pick, a third-round pick, and safety Jabril Peppers. Pouring even more assets into his new contract may be a bit too much for the Browns liking.

Regardless, there is no question that Cleveland's primary concern is building a playoff-caliber roster.

It is safe to say that they managed to do just that with the addition of Beckham. Quarterback Baker Mayfield will now have one of the most talented receiver duos in the league to throw to.
