Boston Bruins center Matthew Poitras scored his first two NHL goals in the span of four minutes on Sunday against the Anaheim Ducks, and he had a hilarious admission about how he felt in the moment.

“It's pretty surreal, I mean, just seeing the puck go in the net, I was really excited,” Matthew Poitras said, according to Kayla Douglas of theScore. “I don't really know what I did. I kind of blacked out a little bit, but just super excited and super happy.”

The two goals came in the third period after the Bruins were trailing 1-0. The first goal came off a pass Morgan Geekie, while the second came from a rebound off a shot from Jake DeBrusk. Poitras spoke about the pass that Morgan Geekie on the first goal.

“(Geekie) made that play twice,” Poitras said, according to Douglas. “The first time, I just missed it far right. I thought, ‘If he gave me another one, I'm going to put it in the back of the net.”

After the two goals, the Bruins had a 2-1 lead over the Ducks, and went on to eventually win the game 3-1. Boston improved to 5-0-0 on the season.

After a historic regular season in the 2022-2023 season, many believed that the Bruins would regress this season, especially with Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci retiring. That still could happen, but Boston is off to another blazing start. It will be interesting to see if they can keep this performance up.

The Bruins will face the Chicago Blackhawks on the road on Tuesday night in their next game
