Most mock drafts had Devin White going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and on Thursday night with the 5th pick that's precisely who they took. During the draft process Buccaneers coach, Bruce Arians raved about the LSU linebacker, and he was doing it again Friday during the team's press conference.

“The tape speaks for itself,” Arians said of White via Pro Football Talk. “People say we need a pass rusher? He’s pretty good at that. And we do like to blitz up the middle, and quarterbacks don’t like pressure up the middle. He fits everything we want as a human being and a football player. I couldn’t be more excited. I probably said six weeks ago, ‘This is our guy.'”

Arians has talked since taking the Buccaneers job just how important it is for his guys to be able to play all over the field. Arians also pointed out just how fast White is, and he would trust him enough to be the spy on Kyler Murray when the Buccaneers play the Arizona Cardinals in November.

“He can cover the great backs. With all the spread that's coming in now, there's no quarterback that's going to out-run him. I don't worry about Kyler Murray as much now, playing him in November, running around. You want [White] to be the spy, because he can run him down and catch him.”

The way the linebacker looks really has changed over the last ten years. They still need to be strong and physical but most importantly now they need to have speed, and that is something White has.
