Tampa Bay Buccaneers first-round draft pick Devin White got off to a slow start to the season but has picked it up the last couple of weeks and it has impressed coach Bruce Arians.

White had two sacks in Week 12 and in Week 13 he had an interception, and also returned a fumble for the touchdown. He also broke 12 passes, hit the quarterback by once, and also had a tackle for the loss.

“He’s a dynamic player. He’s really coming into his own. You can see him blossom every week, getting better and better, more confident and more confident,” Arians said via Pro Football Talk. “He’s everything we thought he’d be.”

There were some Buccaneers fans who were frustrated when the team took White, but he seems to be paying big dividends. White heard all the criticism during his slow start, but he feels like he's finally proving the doubters wrong.

“It's my time, I guess,” White said via NFL.com. “I've been set back this year, but I never complained, and I also kept my head down and kept working.

“It's time for me to show out. It's time for me to show the world what I can do, and it's time for me to keep building on it.”

The Buccaneers are currently sitting with a 5-7 record which isn't the season Arians or White had hoped but it's clear that Bucs have a good future with White in the middle of the defense.

The hope is he can be the star of a good defense for many years to come.
