Tampa Bay Buccaneers star receiver Chris Godwin never really expected to see Tom Brady in a Bucs jersey.

Jameis Winston may have led the league in passing yards last year but it's obvious that the former No. 1 pick wasn't exactly one of the NFL's top quarterbacks. Plus, it's hard to believe that Winston would've had the numbers he did last season if he didn't have a pair of Pro Bowl wideouts in Godwin and Mike Evans

Regardless, Winston will now serve as a backup for the New Orleans Saints and the Buccaneers became undeniably one of the biggest winners of the offseason when they were the surprise winners of the Brady sweepstakes.

Despite his age, Brady is a clear upgrade at quarterback for Tampa Bay. Which in turn means an upgrade for Godwin. However, the first-time Pro Bowler was truly surprised to see the six-time Super Bowl champ sign with Tampa Bay. He said on Friday on FOX Football Now (via 247 Sports):

“I'm like, ‘Yo, this is unreal. I get to catch passes from the G.O.A.T.' But for me, I'm trying to learn. I'm still a student of the game … And so, if I don't pick his brain as much as possible over these next couple of years, I'm doing myself a disservice. So that's my main goal.”

Godwin was one of the NFL's biggest breakout stars last season as the third-year pro would go off for 86 catches for 1,333 yards (third-best mark in the league) and nine touchdowns.
