The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been extremely pleased with Devin White's play this season and he was compensated for his efforts on Thursday. After playing at a high level in recent weeks, White has won the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Month Award for the month of November.

The Buccaneers decided to use the fifth overall pick in this year's draft to select White out of LSU. It's safe to say that the selection has been a success for Tampa Bay so far.

In White's past five outings, he has contributed 46 tackles, three tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. Not to mention, he also has an interception, two deflections, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

As a rookie, the athletic linebacker has 69 tackles, four tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception, and a touchdown. Those numbers are quite impressive for a rookie who missed a few weeks due to injury.

Coming out of college, White was considered to be one of the best linebacker prospects and he's proving exactly why. The LSU alum is a perfect hybrid linebacker for Todd Bowles' defense and he's only going to get better.

During the offseason, Tampa Bay lost Kwon Alexander in free agency to the San Francisco 49ers. Luckily, the Buccaneers were able to replace him with a bright rookie like White.

Additionally, the Buccaneers boast the second-best run defense in the NFL. Through the first 13 weeks, Tampa Bay has only allowed 76.3 rushing yards per game.

Undoubtedly, part of the reason they've been able to achieve that is due to the play of their first-year linebacker. Even though the Buccaneers' playoff hopes are basically nonexistent, it's nice for them to see their first-round pick provide some confidence for the future.
