Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski reveals his -- best show ever -- none other than Netflix sensation Outer Banks.
In the least surprising news of 2020: Rob Gronkowski is a fan of Outer Banks.
The un-retired Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end told Barstool Sports that the Netflix original series was his best binge watch of the quarantine.
Gronkowski crashed an interview with his girlfriend, model Camille Kostek, and joined her in expressing his obvious enthusiasm for the addictive mystery show that took the Internet by storm in the spring.
The three-time Super Bowl champion called the teen drama the “best show ever.” He made a point to acknowledge that he devoured the 10 episodes of season one “in the first two days.”
“And then when it ended we were all mad,” he added. “I love John B,” he said, referring to the protagonist Pogue, played by Chase Stokes. “They need season 2 to come out.”
In case you missed it, Outer Banks, which dropped on Netflix in April, is an adventure/mystery show in which a group of teenage pals (three proud Pogues, one reluctant Kook) from The Cut area of North Carolina set out to hunt for a hallowed buried treasure—and learn a few things about life along the way (kind of).
Outer Banks was an immediate sensation, but has yet to be officially renewed by the streamer for season two. However, showrunner Jonas Pate told
Entertainment Weekly that he's planned out four seasons, and revealed that “Netflix had greenlit us to write some [season 2] scripts” before season one debuted. Considering the success of the show, Gronkowski can rest assured about more adventures with John B and the gang.
