Jameis Winston's future as quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is in limbo, but Skip Bayless thinks that Winston is actually playing pretty good football of late.

That's all well and good, but this seems like Bayless trying to deflect attention away from the fact that Winston has been a massive disappointment for the Buccaneers.
Overall on the year, Winston has thrown for 2,311 yards, 14 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in nine games (seven starts) while completing 63.7 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 85.3.
Has he been horrific? No, but that is a whole lot of turnovers in seven starts, and those just are not numbers you would expect from a No. 1 overall pick in his fourth NFL season.
Winston, who played his collegiate football at Florida State University, was originally selected by Tampa Bay in the 2015 NFL Draft.
He actually enjoyed a solid rookie campaign, throwing for 4,042 yards, 22 touchdowns and 15 picks while completing 58.3 percent of his passes and posting an 84.2 passer rating en route to a Pro Bowl selection.
The following year, Winston improved, totaling 4,090 yards, 28 touchdowns and 18 interceptions, completing 60.8 percent of his passes and compiling a passer rating of 86.1.
However, off-the-field issues, injuries and inconsistent play in general over the last couple of seasons have severely torpedoed Winston's value to the point where some feel the Bucs may actual cut ties with the 24-year-old after the season.
The Buccaneers currently own a record of 5-9 and have not made the playoffs since the 2007-08 campaign. They will take on the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday.
