The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are making some subtle moves and bolstering their current roster. Head coach Bruce Arians has another quarterback to mentor alongside Jameis Winston as the team added Blaine Gabbert to their roster on Wednesday.

Gabbert will be a back up at the position as the team has been vocal about their commitment to quarterback Jameis Winston. Although Winston is the team's proposed starter for the 2019 season, Winston has had his share of difficulties on and off the field. Adding a viable backup like Gabbert is a smart move for the team, and it surely can't hurt to have him on board.

Buccaneers former backup Ryan Fitzpatrick played reasonably well in his time with the time, but another Florida team picked him and now “Fitz-Magic” is headed to the Miami Dolphins. Now that the Buccaneers presumably have their quarterback squad in line, the team can now focus on establishing how the offense will run next season.

Gabbert has not come close to his career best's since his rookie season back in 2011 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he also had a career in games started with 14, so there's a good reason why. Gabbert has more or less been a backup in the league ever since so gaining any kind of consistent field time has been tough for him. The Tennessee Titans were able to get Gabbert on the field for three games last season, but his skill set has not been quite enough to get him a starting job since his days with the Jaguars.
