Just weeks after Tom Brady came back from retirement to return as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, head coach Bruce Arians did the opposite.

The Bucs coach announced his retirement from coaching and will reportedly move on to a front office role. Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles is stepping in as head coach to replace Bruce Arians.

Tom Brady seemed briefed on the decision beforehand, releasing an emotional farewell on Instagram dedicated to the second coach to lead him to a Super Bowl win.

“Thank you, BA for all that you have done for me and our team. You are an incredible man and coach, and it was a privilege to play for you. You are a true NFL legend and pioneer for all the work you have done to make the league more diverse and inclusive,” said Tom Brady to Arians as he steps down as Bucs coach.

“I’m so happy you will spend the much-deserved time with your loving and supportive family that has given so much to our communities. Congratulations on an amazing coaching career but more importantly, how you positively impacted me and everyone else in the game of football,” the Bucs QB continued.

Rumors of a rift between Tom Brady and Bruce Arians often swirled throughout their tenure together on the Buccaneers. While this probably doesn't quell any of those narratives as Brady makes his Bucs comeback, the pairing can always look back at the Super Bowl year that they shared together in Tampa Bay.
