Tom Brady was unable to deliver the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a victory in his debut with the team on Sunday. But that may be a positive sign for what's to come for the Buccaneers. Despite Brady losing in Week 1, it could mean a guaranteed trip to the Super Bowl for the Buccaneers.

During NFL Network's Good Morning Football, an interesting statistic was shared by the crew of the show. In the past three times that Brady has suffered a loss in Week 1, his team has reached the Super Bowl. Of course, the previous three losses in the first week of the season came with the New England Patriots.

Throughout his entire career, Brady has lost only four Week 1 contests — including Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints. Prior to Sunday's disappointing defeat, his previous three losses in Week 1 came in 2003, 2014, and 2017.

All three of those seasons concluded with the Patriots advancing to the Super Bowl. Furthermore, New England won two of those Super Bowls, with their only loss coming to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017.

It was an underwhelming outing for Brady in Week 1 as he threw two interceptions, with one of them resulting in a pick-six. Nevertheless, his arm still looked good and there is room for growth considering the number of weapons the Buccaneers have on offense.

When Brady chose to join Tampa Bay this offseason, they were instantly viewed as Super Bowl contenders in the NFC. And while most people have drawn concerns with the Buccaneers, Sunday's loss might actually be a sign of good fortune for Brady's squad in 2020.
