To be fair to McCoy, it isn’t his fault that Tampa Bay didn’t play in any playoff games during his time there, as the Buccaneers were simply a bad team as a whole during McCoy’s stay.
McCoy, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma, was originally selected by Tampa Bay with the third overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft.
He didn’t make much of an impact over his first couple of years, but by his third season, he was a Pro Bowler after totaling 30 tackles and five sacks. McCoy then had his best season in 2013, racking up 50 tackles, 9.5 sacks and a fumble recovery en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.
Overall, McCoy went to six Pro Bowls with the Bucs.
