Kareem Abdul-Jabbar beware: Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is coming for your record!

On Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers, Antetokounmpo climbed to second in the Bucks' all-time scoring list with the 12,011th point of his career. In true Greek Freak fashion, Giannis did it in style with an insane dunk over a crowded driving lane.

Now, only KAJ remains in front of Giannis to claim the scoring record. Abdul-Jabbar played for six seasons in Milwaukee and made 14,211 points, averaging over 30 points in four of those campaigns and at least 27 points in the other two.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is yet to win it all with the Bucks, as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's 1971 title win with the team remains the only championship silverware Milwaukee has in its long history. However, there is no doubt that the 26-year-old is more than capable of leading the team to the promised land.

After all, over the past two seasons, the Cream City team has been deep to the playoffs. Giannis and Co. made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2018-19 before falling to the Miami Heat in the Semifinals in the 2020-21 playoffs.

A two-time MVP and one-time defensive player of the year, only a championship separates Giannis from true franchise immortality. However, he is still young and will certainly have several opportunities to compete for the elusive NBA championship.

If Giannis eventually wins the championship and surpasses Kareem, there will be no doubt that he'll go down as the greatest player in the history of the Bucks organization.
