Kyrie Irving has come back to the Brooklyn Nets… kind of. The team welcomed back Irving on a “part-time” basis due to New York's mandate on unvaccinated employees. As such, Kyrie was nowhere to be seen during the Nets' clash against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

After the game, Giannis Antetokounmpo was asked about Kyrie Irving's vaccination status. The Bucks star then proceeded to give an eloquent response to this difficult topic. (via Tim Bontemps)

The Greek Freak makes an amazing point here. For the Bucks star, the best thing he as a teammate can do in this situation is tell his teammate why he got vaccinated and his reasoning. Other than that, it's not in his position to force someone to take the vaccine against his own will. These are grown men here, capable of making decisions for themselves. Kyrie will just have to deal with the repercussions of his choice.

Giannis was one of the first NBA stars to get vaccinated before the season started. When asked why, the Bucks star stated that he did it to protect his family and himself. You'd hope that Kyrie gets that message and understands that the decision to get the vaccine is to protect those around him. If he doesn't, well, there's nothing Giannis or his Nets teammates can really do about that.

As for the Bucks, well, they're rolling back into form to start 2022. An early-season slump due to injuries and COVID has been erased, thanks in large part to Giannis being his usual dominant self. A huge win over the East-leading Nets could be a sign of great things to come for this Bucks squad.
