Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was at the mercy of Internet hackers on Thursday.
Antetokounmpo's Twitter was hacked, his timeline subsequently filled with racial and profane messages directed at the Asian community and players such as Stephen Curry and Bucks teammate Khris Middleton. Fortunately, these tweets were removed in short order.
However, it appears the hackers have also gained access to Giannis' bank account.
Antetokounmpo's girlfriend, Mariah, and young brother, Kostas, said Giannis' email and bank accounts were also hacked.
Giannis’ twitter, phone, email and bank accounts were hacked! He genuinely apologizes for everything that was tweeted and he will be back as soon as possible! The things that were said by this hacker were extremely inappropriate and disgusting!

It would seem Giannis needs to do a better job of mixing up his passwords. He would have been an easy target for hackers if he has uniformity in his security measures.
Obviously, Giannis has a huge platform (over one million followers on Twitter), so he would do well to keep things tight when it comes to social media and personal access. The fact his bank account was also hacked is possibly the scariest part.
The Bucks have since announced they are investigating the incident.

Antetokounmpo is certainly fortunate more damage was not done before some of his support structure took notice.
Most NBA fans understand the true content of Giannis' character and likely would have known these tweets stemmed from an imposter, but Giannis is lucky all the same to have family in his corner.
Antetokounmpo was building his case for a second consecutive NBA MVP Award prior to the suspension of play due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The “Greek Freak” was averaging 29.6 points, 13.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists while leading the Bucks to the best record in the league.
Most players are simply worried about getting back into game shape in the event the season resumes. But it looks like Antetokounmpo also has to take extra measures to ensure personal security.
