Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was recently asked who he would pick first if he's voted into captaincy for this season's NBA All-Star Game.

“Have you given it much thought?,” a reporter asked Antetokounmpo. “Who you would take first overall if you had the chance…”

Giannis stayed loyal to his teammates in his reply. However, the Greek Freak added that he would select LeBron James if his teammates aren't available.

“First of all, if my teammates are available, I'm going with my teammates,” Antetokounmpo said. “But if not, I gotta go with LeBron James, the best player in the world… so we could have a good relationship for free agency. You never know, he might come play here.”

As of January 4, Giannis (863,000 votes) and James (856,000) are leading the charge in the first batch of voting returns for Eastern Conference front-court players.

In his 34 games played for the Bucks this season, Antetokounmpo has turned in averages of 29.1 points on 54.9 percent shooting from the field, 10.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.3 blocks. If he can maintain that level of play for the remainder of the 2017-18 campaign, he'll join David Robinson and Russell Westbrook as the only players in NBA history to average at least 29.0 points, 10.0 boards, 4.0 dimes and 1.5 steals in one season.

The 2018 All Star Game will be played on February 18 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST with TNT having live broadcast coverage.
