Giannis Antetokounmpo has most likely silenced all his doubters for good. The Milwaukee Bucks franchise player ascended to legendary status after an equally legendary performance to win Game 6 of the NBA Finals and take home the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

But it wasn't too long ago that the chorus of critics was deafeningly loud against the Bucks superstar. One such voice was that of former player turned ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins, with his infamous “Giannis is Robin” take from just a few weeks ago that's aged like milk left on the kitchen counter for the duration of the NBA Finals.

After the Bucks' sweet victory, Giannis Antetokounmpo's longtime girlfriend Mariah Riddlesprigger grabbed the opportunity to take a shot at the former Greek Freak doubter. She made sure to mock K-Perk's signature two-word catchphrase at the end of her celebratory tweet.

What a difference a few weeks have made. Perkins was just one of a handful of haters on social media in late June when the Atlanta Hawks were proving a worthy adversary for Giannis and the Bucks. Mariah voiced out her disgust at the slander that definitely flooded Twitter after the Hawks tied the series in Game 4, the same game where Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered his scary knee injury.

Sure enough, Kendrick Perkins has changed his tune entirely. He's definitely one name crossed off the long list of talking heads that owed Giannis Antetokounmpo a public apology.

This is not to say that the critics were entirely wrong about Giannis Antetokounmpo. The entire reason that he is being so widely celebrated at the moment is because of the fact that he overcame the prejudices surrounding him. The Bucks star answered those critics by switching to a championship gear that few others throughout NBA history have ever reached. The crazy part is, Giannis is only just getting started.
