It's a sad day for the Milwaukee Bucks as their legendary play-by-play television announcer Jim Paschke has made it known that he'll retire at the conclusion of the 2020-21 season. Upon the sad announcement, Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo reminisced on his times with Paschke.

Giannis recalled his first few years in the NBA, which marked a huge transition in his life. Not only was he adjusting to the style of play, but he was also learning English. And Paschke was the one who made him feel right at home (via Bucks).

“I was so blessed to be part of his legacy. Even though for eight years he's been so kind to me and a lot of people don't know he's unbelievable in his job. But he's a great human being. Since the time when I came in, I was 18 years old. He advised me. He talked to me. He made me feel comfortable in interviews, even when I did not know how to speak English.”

In a statement, the 70-year-old Paschke, who has surely witnessed Giannis' growth to become a two-time NBA MVP, also expressed his gratitude to his fans and the people who have helped him throughout his career.

“This decision is mine alone. It comes as I have had the privilege of broadcasting Bucks basketball for precisely half of my life. There are far too many people to thank in a news release, but Bucks fans are at the top of the list. Thank you for patiently allowing me time to grow so many years ago and for continuing to welcome us into your home.”

Given this bittersweet news, expect Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks to play their hearts out for the rest of the way. If they win the coveted title, it would be a perfect farewell gift for Jim Paschke.
