Jrue Holiday was a late scratch for the Milwaukee Bucks ahead of Monday night's game versus the Denver Nuggets due to the NBA's health and safety protocols. After helping the Bucks secure a win, Khris Middleton confirmed that Holiday produced a positive COVID-19 test, via The Athletic's Eric Nehm.

When Holiday was suddenly ruled out on Monday, there was speculation as to why he was removed from the starting lineup near tip-off. The Bucks declined to comment on the situation, but Middleton revealed that Holiday had a positive test ahead of the game.

Middleton shared his thoughts on the matter, saying that he was concerned about Holiday due to him having children. Holiday has two children, with one of them being born just late last year. In light of that, Middleton immediately wanted to make sure that Holiday's family was doing okay.

On the other hand, Middleton is keeping an optimistic mindset for Holiday, hoping that it was a false positive test. If Holiday produces negative tests over the upcoming days, then his positive test on Monday could have been a false alarm.

Upon the news of Holiday being out with a positive test, the Bucks inserted Bryn Forbes into the starting lineup. Besides Giannis Antetokounmpo stepping up his game, Middleton produced 29 points, eight rebounds, and 12 assists amid the absence of Holiday in Monday's victory.

It goes without saying that we all wish the best for Holiday and his family. But like Middleton, we can all hope that Holiday had a false positive test on Monday and there aren't any issues that arise from this situation. For now, the veteran guard will not be traveling with the team to Phoenix for a game against the Suns.

The Bucks have won five games in a row to move to 16-8 on the season, which is good for second in the Eastern Conference.
