Milwaukee Bucks combo guard Malcolm Brogdon suffered a minor plantar fascia tear in his right foot back on March 15, something the 2017 Rookie of the Year says was actually good for him.

Brogdon had been dealing with pain in his right foot all season. The guard says tearing it will benefit him because a tear can solve the problem of tightness and pain.

“It would get sore and get irritated probably a few weeks before the injury happened and then it basically just tore, which is the best thing for it,” Brogdon said, via Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “It sort of heals and cures the plantar fasciitis.

“I just want to get back in time so when we play a tough opponent I can help in the playoffs.”

In 64 games this season for the Bucks, Malcolm Brogdon is having the best statistical year of his pro career.

The 26-year-old Georgia native is averaging 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while shooting an efficient 50.5 percent from the field, 42.6 percent from beyond the arc and 92.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The playoffs start on Saturday, April 13. The Bucks have the best record in the NBA and are looking to make it to the NBA Finals.

The team will need Brogdon to accomplish that.
