Milwaukee Bucks center Robin Lopez will not play in his team's game against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday due to an illness, according to Matt Velazquez of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

In 42 games this season with the Bucks, Lopez is averaging 5.5 points and 2.7 rebounds over 14.3 minutes per game while shooting 51 percent from the floor, 27 percent from three-point range and 51.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Lopez, who played his collegiate basketball at Stanford, was originally selected by the Phoenix Suns in the first round (15th pick overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft.

While he has never been quite as offensively skilled as his twin brother, Brook, Robin has been able to maintain his spot in NBA rotations throughout his career due to his solid offensive rebounding, soft touch, consistent rim protection and high basketball IQ.

The big man spent the first four seasons of his career with the Suns, mostly playing in a bench role. He was then traded to the New Orleans Hornets (now the Pelicans) during the summer of 2012 and landed a full-time starting job for the first time in his career, registering 11.3 points, 5.6 boards and 1.6 blocks across 26 minutes a night while making 53.4 percent of his field-goal attempts and 77.8 percent of his foul shots.

However, Lopez's stay in New Orleans was short-lived, as he was dealt to the Portland Trail Blazers that ensuing offseason and spent the following two years as the Blazers' starting center before signing a four-year, $54 million contract with the New York Knicks during the summer of 2015.

After one season with the Knicks, Lopez was traded to the Chicago Bulls, where he spent what was arguably the most successful three-year stretch of his NBA career. Over the summer, he signed a two-year, $9.7 million deal to join his brother in Milwaukee.
