The recently-reported interest from the Toronto Raptors and the Milwaukee Bucks in a potential trade for Anthony Davis brings some level of concern for the latter, given how they lack the assets the New Orleans Pelicans will likely want out of a deal.
ESPN's Zach Lowe expressed he was leery of a potential swap between the Bucks and Pelicans, especially since the former already owe two future first-round picks and how the support players around Giannis Antetokounmpo wouldn't do much for the Pels.
One team I didn't mention on the podcast yesterday, but I keep seeing mentioned as a potential Davis suitor: the Bucks. I just don't see it. They already owe two future firsts and I'm not sure any of their non-Giannis players fit what the Pelicans will/should want.

Furthermore, Davis and Antetokounmpo have way too similar a skill set — both long, athletic, excellent rebounders and capable of leading their respective teams in all five major categories. Putting the two together would mean a two-headed monster of pure destruction upon the Eastern Conference.
Article Continues BelowThe Bucks have also showed intent on re-signing the likes or Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middleton in the offseason, believing the two as integral parts of the team's success as complementary pieces to Antetokounmpo.
The Raptors, however, could use a long, athletic jack of all trades to replace the likes of Serge Ibaka and Jonas Valanciunas, combining the size and ability of both players in a much younger body at 25 years of age.
So far, the Los Angeles Lakers are the frontrunner to acquire Davis before the Feb. 7 deadline, with the New York Knicks, Bucks and Raptors reportedly in the mix.
If they all fail to nab Davis, the Boston Celtics will quickly leapfrog them all in a re-start of this race come July 1, where president Danny Ainge will come out with guns blazing after lusting for the five-time All-Star for the last two seasons.
