Another day, another opportunity for Jim Boylen to praise his team's new starting small forward. Before Saturday's game against the Washington Wizards, the Chicago Bulls coach told reporters what he believes makes the recently-acquired Otto Porter a consummate professional and perfect fit for his young team.

“His approach already is respected,” Boylen said of Porter, per K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. “His spirit is acknowledged. He’s got a brightness about him and a care factor.”

The sixth-year wing certainly made a good first impression on Boylen during his Bulls debut. Porter fit in seamlessly with his new team on Friday night, scoring 18 points on tidy shooting marks of 7-of-9 from the field and 4-of-5 from beyond the arc in Chicago’s 125-106 road win over the Brooklyn Nets. After the game, Boylen lauded the 25-year-old for his ability to quickly pick up the Bulls' two-way concepts and his commitment to communication defensively.

Porter, of course, spent the first five-and-a-half seasons of his career with the Wizards, adding a much-needed layer of intrigue to Saturday night's game between a pair of inconsequential Eastern Conference teams. It will no doubt be an emotional night for Porter, Bobby Portis, and Jabari Parker, who were all involved in the trade. All three players have expressed disappointment about the way their departures were handled, too, and all three played extremely well in their debuts with new teams on Friday night.
