Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days after sustaining a left foot sprain during Monday’s game vs. the Houston Rockets. Chicago is currently 19-10, which is good for first place in the Eastern Conference's Central Division and the second overall seed in the East. Part of the Bulls' success in 2021 has come from the free-agent acquisition of Caruso.

So far in 2021, Caruso is averaging 28 minutes, 8.4 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game and is shooting 44.8 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from three-point distance, and 83 percent from the free-throw line. All of those numbers except the three-point percentage are career highs for the “Caru-Show,” and he will be sorely missed by his Bulls teammates.

Before coming to the Bulls, Caruso was an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M, to role player on the Los Angeles Lakers, to to a contract worth $37 million over four years. He won his first NBA championship with the Lakers in the “2020 Disney World Bubble.” All the while he was making a name for himself with his hustle and his signature headband. He has continued to gain fans through his social media presence and his swaggy gameday outfits.

Nevertheless, the Bulls will now try to carry on their season while Caruso rests his foot for the 7-10 days that it will take to get a better picture of his recovery timetable. For now, Caruso will likely miss Chicago's next three games at least. Those matchups are at home against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, followed by a road/home split with the Atlanta Hawks on December 27th and 29th. The Bulls were scheduled to play Wednesday night at the Toronto Raptors but that game has been postponed because of the Raptors' ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
