Alex Caruso is ready to spread his wings. The former Los Angeles Lakers guard has made his way to the Windy City. The move to the Chicago Bulls also likely comes with an even bigger role for the five-year veteran.

Caruso may very well be asked to create more scoring opportunities and play on-ball more than he ever did with the Lakers. He's shown to be a capable scorer in spurts, but he's clearly not used to being that type of player just yet. While working on some offensive sets, Alex Caruso took the opportunity to take a playful dig at his former team.

Via Rob Schaefer of NBC Sports Chicago:

Bulls ran some dribble handoff drills during practice today, and Alex Caruso said an assistant coach pulled him aside to compliment him on his ability to fight through screens.

“I said for three years that's all I was allowed to do.”

The Lakers offense was centered around LeBron James, and for good reason. But this meant much less offensive responsibility for Caruso. He's going to be asked to do much more than set screens for the Bulls, that's for sure.

The mood around the Chicago Bulls camp has been filled with excitement and anticipation. With the arrival of All-Star DeMar DeRozan and a handful of veteran additions, the team looks poised to be a dark horse contender in the Eastern Conference – with Alex Caruso serving as the glue holding them together.
