The Chicago Bulls didn’t draft Coby White with the seventh overall pick to be a bench player. Eventually, Chicago will hand the keys to the offense to White and let him run the show. It just won’t happen this season.

The Bulls have been starting Tomas Satoransky this season at the point guard spot. With that said, it is unlikely for White to start a single game this season unless both Satoransky and Kris Dunn are hurt.

However, White revealed to Bulls reporters on Tuesday that his ultimate goal is to be Chicago's starting point guard “one day.”

“Yeah, for sure,” White said about being a starting lead guard sooner than later for the Bulls, via Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times. “Coming into the league, that’s what I was. I was a lead guard at North Carolina and in high school. It’s what I’ve been most of my life. Of course I want to be that one day. You don’t know your path or which road guys are willing to take you on. I’ll just be waiting and find out where I am in the future.”

White has appeared in every game for the Bulls this season. He’s averaging 11.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 37.5 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from beyond the arc and 73.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Bulls have been looking for a quality point guard ever since the Derrick Rose trade. Chicago's front office and ownership are hoping White is the answer.
