Two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference faced off in a marquee matchup on Monday night. When the smoke cleared, it was the Miami Heat who came out unscathed, hacking out a 112-99 victory over the Chicago Bulls.

The Heat continued their surge, as they have now won nine of their last 10 outings to improve to 41-21. The Bulls, meanwhile, dropped to 39-23. They outscored the Heat in the fourth quarter, 32-21, but it wasn't enough to steal the win.

Bulls star DeMar DeRozan, who has been on a smoldering tear, was limited to just 18 points on 16 attempts. His streak of consecutive 30-points games got halted at 10. But strangely enough, the high-scoring veteran said he was kind of relieved about it, per the report of ESPN.

“I was just playing (and not minding the scoring streak). Just going out there playing, competing, doing whatever I could. I was just going out there playing. I'm glad it's over with so I can stop hearing everything about it.”

It seems like the 32-year-old DeRozan felt a little bit of pressure because of his string of scoring binges. He was just one 30-point outing shy of matching Michael Jordan's Bulls record of 11 games in a row with at least 30 points.

Well, DeRozan can always start another scoring streak, as the Bulls visit the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday.
