The Chicago Bulls made history on Monday night against the Boston Celtics, turning a 19-point second-half deficit into a 14-point victory. The Bulls trailed by 19 points late in the third quarter and 14 entering the fourth quarter before outscoring the Celtics 39-11 in the final frame to earn a 128-114 win.

By flipping that 14-point deficit heading into the fourth and winning by 14, Chicago made Boston the first team in the NBA's shot-clock era to suffer such a collapse:

Bulls star DeMar DeRozan led the way for Chicago with 37 points, including 10 during the final 20-4 run to close out the game. DeRozan shot a red-hot 15-of-20 from the field and even made three triples, a rarity for him.

After the game, he couldn't help but applaud the Bulls' fight:

The Bulls nearly pulled off an incredible late comeback last week against the New York Knicks, turning a 13-point deficit into a one-point loss over the final couple of minutes. They even had a chance to win the game, but DeRozan couldn't finish the job.

He made sure that didn't happen again on Monday, destroying Boston's defense over and over again down the stretch. He got some help from Zach LaVine and an outstanding effort from the bench, including rookie Ayo Dosunmu. The Chicago product made all six of his field goals to score a career-high 14 points, and DeRozan praised his play:

The Bulls are now 6-1 on the season, which is the best record in the NBA. They lost key youngster Patrick Williams to a likely season-ending wrist injury in that game against the Knicks, but have since responded with huge wins over the Utah Jazz and then the Celtics. While it's still early in this 2021-22 season, it's sure looking like the Bulls are back.

The schedule is tough over the next month, though, so Chicago will need to continue to show the resiliency DeRozan talked about on Monday night.
