Chicago Bulls head coach Jim Boylen says the team is excited about adding small forward Otto Porter to the roster and that the swingman fits with what they are trying to build in Chicago.

The Bulls acquired Otto Porter from the Washington Wizards on Wednesday in exchange for Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker.

Otto Porter was the third overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft out of Georgetown University. He signed a lucrative four-year, $106.5 million deal with the Wizards in the summer of 2017. The 25-year-old is making $26,011,913 this season, owed $27,250,575 next season, and has a player option worth $28,489,238 for the 2020-21 campaign.

In 41 games this season for Washington, Porter averaged 12.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest while shooting 45.7 percent from the field, 36.9 percent from beyond the arc and 76.6 percent from the free-throw line. At 6-foot-8, Porter has the skill set to be a sound perimeter defender for the Bulls. He's also an above average 3-point shooter, something Chicago desperately needs moving forward.

Otto Porter is going from a team in the Wizards who were fighting for a playoff spot to a team in the Bulls who are going to be a lottery team. It's going to be an adjustment for the Missouri native.
