After seeing Zach LaVine debut for them just last weekend, the Chicago Bulls are happy to have their young core complete and seeing them compete on the floor at the same time. However, just three games in, they are once again shorthanded as Kris Dunn has been placed on the NBA’s concussion protocol following the hard fall he suffered on Wednesday during their game against the Golden State Warriors.

It has been reported that the 23-year-old Providence product will not travel with the team when they make their way to Atlanta to face the Hawks on Saturday, according to Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald. His front teeth have also been splinted with braces as he hit his mouth hard on the floor late in the fourth quarter.

It can be recalled that with only 2:57 left in the game, Dunn threw down a powerful slam during a fastbreak but lost his grip on the rim, leading to his scary fall. Dunn fell mouth-first to the floor and he had to lay there for a few minutes before finally standing up. The Bulls went on to lose the game, 119-112, but not after a valiant run late in the contest from Chicago.

LaVine and Jerian Grant are both expected to see an uptick in their usage should Dunn continue to miss some games. It will definitely be a huge blow to the Bulls as Dunn has been playing well as of late while the team has started to make some noise in the Eastern Conference.
