Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball is doing his best in his recovery from knee injury, but he isn't just responding well in his rehab.

After it was reported earlier that Ball is still not doing anything at full speed as he experiences discomfort in his left knee, head coach Billy Donovan announced the Bulls' plan to stop the guard from running for 10 days. Instead, they want Ball to focus on strengthening his knee to avoid further complications when they ramp up their workout.

There are just roughly two weeks left in the 2021-22 regular season, and given Lonzo Ball's status in his recovery from injury, it's looking unlikely that he'll be able to return before the playoffs.

He has a chance to suit up for the team come playoff time, but it will be difficult for the Bulls to get him back into game shape and shake off the rust in the postseason where every game matters. There is just no room for error in the playoffs.

Ball has been out since January after he sustained a left knee bone bruise and torn meniscus. He then underwent surgery and was initially ruled out for six to eight weeks. Unfortunately, his rehab work didn't go as planned even though Donovan doesn't want to call it a setback.

It remains to be seen what the Bulls will do with Ball. For now, however, the veteran guard needs to only focus on getting back to 100 percent health before thinking of helping his Chicago teammates in the playoffs.
