Chicago Bulls second-year forward Patrick Williams is expected to miss the rest of the season with a left wrist dislocation, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Williams will undergo surgery soon.

The Bulls youngster suffered the injury on a drive to the basket in the third quarter of the 104-103 loss against the New York Knicks on Thursday night. Williams went up for a dunk and was hit hard by Knicks center Mitchell Robinson, resulting in an awkward fall and the injury:

Williams' second season has been cursed from the start. He suffered an ankle injury before training camp even began that kept him out until the end of the preseason. He was then playing through a shoulder issue before hurting his wrist.

This is a tough blow for Williams' development as the fifth starter on a talented Bulls team that's off to a 4-1 start. Chicago already had an undersized roster before this injury, so losing the starting power forward isn't ideal. Javonte Green will likely slide back into the starting lineup like he did during the preseason, and the Bulls should turn to Derrick Jones Jr. for more minutes now that Williams is out for the long haul. There could also be other moves to address the frontcourt.

Chicago's season isn't lost by any means given the talent still in place, but injuries have already hit hard. Coby White is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, while Zach LaVine is playing through a left thumb injury. With a brutal schedule ahead, the Bulls are going to have to dig deep to stay afloat.
