The Chicago Bulls are coming off an overtime loss to the Toronto Raptors, 127-120. In the loss, Bulls guard Zach LaVine logged 42 minutes, despite playing with back spasms. After the game, he detailed playing through the back injury and how it is affecting him.

LaVine “played the last two games with back spasms… I’m just trying to help us win,” he said. Thursday was the first of four games over the course of five days. The Bulls head to Indiana Friday to play the Pacers, then come back home for a back to back Sunday and Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns. On Wednesday, they are back on the road square off with Charlotte Hornets.

LaVine talked about how he is feeling and whether or not he will be able to continue to play through the pain.

“It hurts. That’s what happens when you play a 42-minute game with back spasms… I’ll see how I feel in the morning.”

Despite playing 42 minutes, the Bulls guard was not as aggressive as he typically is on the offensive end. He finished the night six for 10 shooting, for 15 points. Bulls starting center addressed how he felt the injury impacted LaVine's game and what he means to the team.

“I think it was bothering him a lot, especially on the offensive end trying to score and be aggressive. It speaks a lot about his commitment to winning and to this team. Obviously, even him maybe not being 100 percent helps us a lot. We appreciate him being out there.”

Prior to tip off Thursday, LaVine was announced as one of the NBA Eastern Conference All-Star reserves. It was his second straight season being named an All-Star.
