The Chicago Bulls made sure to make a memorable surprise for swingman Zach LaVine, who was just selected to his first All-Star Game amid the Bulls' surprise season.

LaVine thought he was about to do a call with the media, but it turned out that his parents, Paul and Cheryl, were the first to congratulate him for the achievement:

Former NBA veteran Jamal Crawford joined the call as well and took time to congratulate LaVine on his career milestone. The players formed a bond after going through numerous battles on the court and working out together in recent years. They are also both Washington natives, with Crawford hailing from Seattle while LaVine grew up in Renton.

A Bulls teammate of his in Thaddeus Young also came to the call. The 32-year-old forward claimed that he wanted to achieve two goals when he signed with Chicago: make the playoffs and help LaVine become an All-Star. Fortunately, the Bulls also have a chance to reach the postseason as they are currently holding a 14-16 record for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. Young has played a key role in this charge with LaVine, providing a strong veteran presence and terrific play off the bench.

Close family members and friends also showed their support to LaVine, who finally received recognition for his stellar play on the court. He's currently averaging 28.6 points on 51.8% shooting from the field along with 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists through 30 games played.

Zach LaVine has already left his mark on the All-Star festivities by being named as a two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion. He will now get a chance to show his complete repertoire when he finally takes the stage in the All-Star Game on March 7 in Atlanta, and it's a well-deserved honor.
