As the Chicago Bulls severely fight to catch the Washington Wizards for the final play-in spot, they will be getting Zach LaVine back in the lineup with just seven contests to go.

Per the Athletic's Sham Charania, the Bulls superstar is expected to make his return on Thursday against the Hornets after an 11-game absence due to COVID-19.

This is obviously great news for Chicago, who have immensely struggled since LaVine went on the shelf. They've lost four straight and went 4-7 without their best player.

Currently, the Bulls are four games off the Wizards who sit in 10th spot, but Russell Westbrook and co. have been red-hot as of late. To top it off, Billy Donovan's team has a very tough remaining schedule as they play the Bucks, Celtics, and the Nets on two occasions.

Nonetheless, LaVine has been brilliant for the Bulls this season, putting up career-highs across the board. The former UCLA standout is dropping 27.5 points per night while collected 5.1 rebounds and assists en route to his very first All-Star appearance.

His presence in the Bulls lineup will be quickly felt as the team looks to pull off the unthinkable of somehow salvage the season. Needless to say, it won't be easy, but LaVine showing out on a nightly basis could definitely help their case.
