The Chicago Bulls are getting torn apart by COVID-19 right now with a full-blown outbreak, but nonetheless, it's been an impressive start. The team is currently 17-10 which is third in the East and is proving to be a legitimate contender early on.

However, despite essentially changing their entire roster in the offseason with the additions of most notably DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball, and Alex Caruso, the Bulls are looking to make a splash at the 2022 Trade Deadline in one specific area. Via Matt Moore of The Action Network:

The Bulls are thought of as buyers in the market, predictably, given their hot start. The loss of Patrick Williams has been real, and Chicago has been looking for a wing defender to bring off the bench, multiple sources confirmed.

Williams, who was Billy Donovan's starting power forward, is out for the rest of the season after suffering a wrist injury. He played in just five games before going on the shelf. Donovan has switched up the rotations quite a bit since, with DeRozan playing both forward positions. Even though Caruso is a tremendous defender who plays a ton every game, another formidable second unit wing would certainly come in handy in place of Williams, who was known for his defense.

It's not exactly known who the Bulls are planning to pursue, but they shouldn't have any problem finding a wing defender. After all, there are quite a few of them around the league.
